About the
Checkers Colors
The most widely available sets of checkers consist of black and
white checkered boards with black and red pieces. They provide poor
visibility, especially for the black pieces on the black squares.
Although you would be able to see the black checkers on black squares,
it makes no sense to use checkers of the same color as the squares
on which they are placed. If you play with black and red checkers
only, it would be better to use a board of some other colors, from
a chess set for example. If you have only a black and red board,
perhaps you can use pieces of other colors; try pieces from a backgammon
game, for example, or from other 2 players game.
